Mermaid is a JavaScript based diagramming and charting tool that renders Markdown-inspired text definitions to create and modify diagrams dynamically. Whilst Mermaid's text based diagramming syntax has some huge benefits such as being lightweight, maintainability and most importantly the file over app philosophy, it also has some drawbacks.
